if it's anything like the one in Long Island, don't expect much culinary value. I've been twice. Cool social atmosphere but food blows. Bring a stopwatch, lol. you kinda have to time your cooking.

    I agree with this.

I've been once to Simply Fondue in Atlas Park, which was enough for me. I thought the concept would be cool in theory but when I got there and they told me I had to cook my own raw "food" on skewer in hot oil over a burner, I was turned off to it. Felt like I was cooking over a campfire. Also the "food" is 2 small pieces of different food groups (ie: 2 small chucks of chicken, 2 small chunks pork/beef/shrimp, etc". It was disgusting in my opinion.

I liked were the ambiance/decor of the restaurant and they had an insane martini menu. Those are the only 2 things I would go back for.

You can click on here to see the gallery and the martini menu:

I actually think the place is great. And of course you have to cook your own food, that is what fondue is.

I didn't realize that you had to cook your own food, never having fondue before. I thought that the food was cooked for you already and that you dip samples of different already cooked food (chicken, meats, shrimps, etc) into various dips such as different cheeses, sauces, etc. The whole cooking your food in oil and judge whether or not it's undercooked or over cooked, is not for me. If I'm going out to eat, I don't want to be preparing my own meal.

I don't think they use oil. I used broth at the melting pot.

    So... we LOVED it!!!!

Used a livingsocial.com deal - appetizer, salad, entree & bottle of wine for 2 for $59

    appetizer
spinach artichoke cheese fondue - waiter made it right in front of us, added some garlic and tabasco.. deeeeeeeeeelish
ate that w/ raw veggies, bread, crackers and pita chips

    salad
i had the spinach mushroom salad - spinach, mushroom, bacon bits, tomatoes w/raspberry vinaigrette
husband had the california salad - lettuce, tomatoes, walnuts, almonds, cheese.

    entree
    shrimp
    filet mignon
    dumplings
2 different types of meat - marinated sirloin & pork sirloin
    chicken breast
    potatoes
    mushrooms
6 diff types of dipping sauces

at first it seemed a bit ridiculous because it was a plate filled w/ a bunch of little meats.... between the drinking, the cooking, and all the diff variety, we were STUFFED!!

def loved it, loved that it was so cheap, loved the decor and ambiance (would make for a perfect first date)

    give it 2 thumbs up!

A friend of mine wants us all to go to the Melting Pot in Red Bank.

It's more of an event than just a dinner, right?

How long were you there, latinaj? And is there a potential of burning yourself? lol I can be very careless.

def a very interactive dinner... so i would def recommend for a friends night out, dates.

we were there for 2 hours, the waiter told us most people dine between 2-3 hours. I dont think there's any potential in burning yourself. the tables are pretty big.
