    3D TVs

We were discussing 3D TVs here 1-2 months ago and some said the technology is not that good yet (I was one of them) well I just got back from my boys house who just got a 46 inch Samsung LED 3D TV, and let me tell you,I was shocked how well the 3D pictured looked (with glasses). Believe me when I tell you the technology is totally here, I haven't shut my mouth in the past hour telling Eleni how amazed I am. Wait till some of you see it, will be blown away like I was.

I am for sure going to sell my 63 inch Plasma Samsung and get the 65 inch 3D unit. I;; post some more reviews next month when I get it.

The main point is, it's still temporary technology. Having to wear glasses will never become mainstream so IMO its still a waste to invest in that now no matter how good it looks. There is much more advanced 3D tech that does not require glasses on the horizon. It's not even on the horizon, it's real, it's just not being applied to the market yet, surely so they can squeeze everbody for as much change as possible. I am grateful however because it drove the prices of non 3D TV's down.

I have had my samsung 58" 3d plasma for about 4 months now and I still have yet to turn it into 3D mode. I just don't see anything appealing about it right now. I usually get a new TV every 2 years, so hopefully by the time I'm ready for the next one, the technology is applied better.

on optimum there is a 3d channel although i've never watched it. Also on showtime and starz on demand I noticed a 3d section.

I was quite impressed with the 3D technology also.
I have 2 sony bravia 1080p's and a vizio right now. No need to upgrade just yet. I assume in a few years 3d will be standard on all tv's

It seems like it's just about standard now. I in no way wanted 3d but the few tv's I narrowed it down to all had 3d technology. They weren't even expensive TV's, all in the 2-3k range.

I bet its awesome with glasses but I will just wait for the non-glasses 3D to come out and purchase on Black Friday of that year.

    No rush for me.

What do you do with the old ones? I feel bad throwing away a perfectly good TV, that's why i'm still using my dinosaur.

Usually give them to a friend or sell on craigslist. I never throw it away.
