    2005 BMW M3 or 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe?

I'm getting another car soon (probly after the new year. I've narrowed it down to these two. Just curious as to what some of you think. The M3 is faster and more rare, but the G37 has a lil nicer interior and is cheaper to buy parts for.

    Thoughts?

I personally would not get that BMW because it's already a generation older and the next gen is so much nicer looking. And on top of that the even newer gen is rolling out. So that shit is about to age 8 years overnight. That's just me though and I say that cuz it's obvious classic older styles is not a real desire here. If performance is by far your main concern then yea the M3 will do you better. The G37 is not a performance car but it's much nicer and newer so in terms of that you will probably stay into it longer. If your not gonna modify and all that stuff it's plenty quick to pull you around town.

i have a 2005 BMW M3. I love every minute of driving that thing. Parts are cheap (if you can do the work yourself)....don't buy into that its expensive to maintain......compared to my old Infiniti G20 & Audi....i haven't had to replace much on this car.....just small stuff....and powersteering pump b/c i decided to do donuts in my car and blew it out.

To a lot of BMW purists (including myself)....the 2001-2006 M3s are the last of the classic bmws. Even Bekim can agree w/ me here, that the new M3 isn't a drivers car. Yeah its fun, but if your a car enthusiat, you'll know what i mean if you drive both the old vs new ones.

I've driven the G37s, and they're great cars. Actually if you test drive the 2005 M3 & G37, you might actually think the G37 is a much faster car. They're really torquey. You tap the gas, and it goes. The M3 isn't like that at all. You have to drive it hard (like a Vtec) to feel the power. Thats one of the things I like about the car. The powers is there when you need it...very conservative.

Plus living in SI, G37s are a dime a dozen. Bottom line is, it depends what ur looking for since they're two very diff cars. If you're looking for a daily driver to take you to/from work, and wanna have the convenience of two xtra doors, go for the G37. If you're a car guy, and want a good handling sports car then go M3. If you do get the BMW, do yourself a favor and pay to have the car inspected at BMW (its called PPI = Pre-Purchase Inspection). Don't go into the car blindedly b/c thats where you'll shoot urself in the foot.

Oh there WILL be mods. That is why I almost never buy brand new.

And I actually like the E46 body style better anyway and unlike the G37, I would be able to install a much better aftermarket stereo and navigation system.

    now THIS is good advice.

But BTW, the G37 would have been the coupe NOT the 4 door.

This is a pretty senseless comment dude. So any technological or mechanical improvements, or plain old differences, in design are training wheels? Seems like ass backwards thinking from a guy who supposedly like modifying. Trust me no matter what work you did to that M3 would it give you the ability to pull some shit that i've done in AWD cars in all conditions. Im not gonna get into a drivetrain war, RWD has its pros and AWD has it's own. So what is wrong with pushing the boundries of where you can push the limits? Theres a word for that, progress. I hope for your sake after a comment like that your 3 doesnt come with the SMG box, oh and if you need help ripping out the traction control let us know. We dont want any of your friends laughing at your training wheels. And no, simply turning it off will kinda be like flipping the wheels up in the air. So ghey.
