Haha, sorry. We dont have a traditional 7 fish dinner, we just make a ton of awesome shit.

Shrimp cocktail to start with an antipasto platter.
Some calamari salad or frutti di mare
Homemade manicotti (incredibly easy to make)
Lobster, filet mignon and flounder for the shellfish allergies

    christmas eve dinner

definitely pick up some clams. try something simple like baking them with a breadcrumb, olive oil, garlic, oregano, salt mixture on top of them.

crab cakes are always a big hit at my family christmas eve dinner too

we usually do eggplant rollatini, but I know you can do chicken or a fish rollatini

You can get good canned lump crab meat in lots of places. Fish market or even the ones in supermarkets. (But lets support the mom and pop places, so fish market)

The Feast of the Seven Fishes (festa dei sette pesci), celebrated on Christmas Eve, also known as The Vigil (La Vigilia), is believed to have originated in Southern Italy and is not a known tradition in many parts of Italy. Today, it is a feast that typically consists of seven different seafood dishes. Some Italian American families have been known to celebrate with 9, 11 or 13 different seafood dishes. This celebration is a commemoration of the wait, Vigilia di Natale, for the midnight birth of the baby Jesus.

yesterday Ina Garten made a seafood gratin that looked insane with shrimp, halibut and lobster. I'll see if I can find the recipe.

I am planning my menu now. It's usually just Fart and I on Christmas Eve and we go out, but I really would love to stay home and enjoy the house, tree, and doggies. Especially since it's on a Saturday. I'm planning to make:

    Baked Clams
    Calamari fra diavolo
Grilled Calamari with a lemon/caper vinaigrette
Definitely a small tray of eggplant parm
    Butter poached lobster

Only two of us so can't go completely nuts. A little bit of everything though
And then Betty White laughed so hard her boob fell out.
