The Monday of that week is Martin Luther King Day.... Its going to be high no matter what. Can she fly back early Tuesday morning and go right to work?

Are you willing to have her fly out of JFK or LGA instead? Any other airport she can fly into besides West Palm?

Would she mind a stopover?

I also usually look up prices by the one-way and book them separate, that way I can use two different airlines (that a combo search on Kayak usually doesnt yield) and get the lowest price.

If you can change any of those parameters you will get a better deal. I'd also wait until Tues or Wed to book it, prices usually dip mid week when the fare sales start.

my flight home was terrible. captain missed initial approach and we circled around the city for an hour in horrific turbulence. jet blue has sucked the last few times i've flown with them so i'm putting them on my blacklist for the time being. try southwest.

Use one of the endless price engines. They are all within the same price give or take a couple of bucks. See who is the cheapest then go see if you can find a discount code on the internet, and then purchase it directly from their (whatever airline) website. I have not flown anywhere in about 5 months but I always find discounts codes online.
