    Making a Steak, not on the grill..HELP???

    i've made a dozen steaks over my years not on a grill and they all never quite measure up. i'll be making steak on an old stove. either fry them or bake. i already thought about grilling them at home and heating them up 2 days laters...lol.

    I'm lookin for a seared outside & some general instruction. how can i grill with a shit old oven..

    filet is my choice but I can change if it makes a diff

    You can cook it in the broiler, comes out pretty good.

    Sear it in a pan, a minute each side. Then broil it.

    sounds like a plan, personally never had been able to make a bangin steak other then the grill

    Definitely sear it then. Pat the steak dry and sprinkle with kosher salt and black pepper. Get the pan nice and hot, add a little olive oil, when it is about to reach smoking point put the steak in and then flip after a minute or so. Finish in the oven.

    Although I found corningware works the best that's how I cool all my steaks, I'll pan sear it as well but depends on the steak.

    Yeah I had a brain fart I forgot that's like putting a frag grenade in your oven haha. I was really serious about the corningware though, I cooked steaks on everything, pans, baking sheets is seriously came out the best on that, try it bros.
