I would imagine this is a subjective question but learn what they sound like and if you can make your track sound good on other playback systems then you are all good.

Maloku has the Mackie HR-824's. They sound incredible but also are not "reality." He knows this so knows how to mix on them to make it sound right on other playback systems.

Just bought these 2 days ago....AMAZING.

I was going to go with the Yamaha HC80's...but after hearing the pioneers, NUFF SAID!

Their listed as 1000$ but in store they are $899.

Let me know what u end up getting and how they are.

Also, if you get them from guitar center this month, you can get 12 months no interest

Mackies dont have a big enough air filter in them...but Dynaudios are really good, i use to have them. Just wanted to switch it up. The Pioneer 08's are really smooth. But hey whatever floats your boat.

Just because you pay more for something doesn't mean there better....

You want an accurate nearfeild, that has enough bass to cover the frequency's in house tracks, but not something that's bass heavy or really loud, because everything you put through them sounds good, thats why a lot of studios have 3 different motoring systems, small, medium, large....

As long as the monitor is accurate and you can make the track sound big on the smaller speakers with good bass response, then it will always transfer up to larger speakers...

But if you make it on larger speakers and the bass response is tailored to the larger speaker.... Most of the time it doesn't transfer down.... And most people forget, 80% of your sales are sold to people listening on headphones or shit computer speakers...

Yamaha HS80Ms, without question. I have a pair. Try to get them for under $500 for the pair when on sale at Sam Ash, etc.

Bek go to the store when they sell them and make them hook them up and then listen to them. whichever sounds the best to you should make it easier to decide
