I know its early but I am trying to plan a bachelorette and I need to gather info. Couple questions, if you can help I'd appreciate it.

    - Are there wine tours in the summer?
    - Suggestions on best place to stay?
    - What (will) be open for going out day & night?

    Thanks!

i think its not the best option for a bachelorette. There are wine tours but they are mostly on the north fork however you wouldnt want to stay there as there is nothing to do. We did a wine tour to 6 vineyards this past summer with a group of 25 or so and it was fun. the last vineyard actually had a tent with a DJ believe it or not. The best nightlife spots are #1 Surf Lodge and #2 the other marginal bottle service clubs which i all lump together and the names change all the time. The lodging is a real issue as all the hotels (read: crap motels) are very expensive for what they offer. By this i mean crappy small bathrooms, bugs in the rooms, tiny little tv's, uncomfortable beds. The best time i've had staying out there in a hotel is in Amagansett / Montauk because while you are still in a motel, at least it's right on the ocean and the beaches are fantastic. I'd look into Gurney's in Montauk or some of the ones right on 27 in Amagansett which is further from where you will be coming from. I'd def avoid Southhampton, Bridgehampton, East Hampton hotels.

I agree the hotels are crap for what you pay. Much better off renting a house.

East Hampton is without a doubt the best part of the Hamptons. Main Beach was ranked #4 last year. The shopping, restaurants and overall vibe is awesome there.
