I just heard this also, I would have to watch the whole trial to see what evidence was presented cause it is crazy to see someone that commits this violent murder walk free.

reasonable doubt is all you need to be acquitted...

their defense presented a defense that showed Morris Black to be a lunatic and a mean old man who is unstable and could have possibly attacked durst....proving durst argument that he killed him in a struggle for a gun (which could be true) ....and the thing that I find so smart about the defense is how they used his being on the run and hiding as a major part of his defense.

he said on the stand that he chopped up the body b/c he knew that since he was ont he run for being investigated for his wife's murder that he knew it would look shady to the cops..

so he got drunk and then chopped him up.........not syaing he is not guilty....but i would buy that as a story and apprently the jury did also..

now mind you ...you can't look at him like a cold blooded killer already ...cause he was being investigated....he never was charged wiht his wife's murder....being investigated doesn't make you guilty......so the jury did good in deliberating wihtout being prejudice to this fact..

say manslaughter or at least illegal dumping of a body ...
